Chaser
Watch the route, not just the runner.
The useful question is where a Runner can go next—not how expensive your equipment looks.

The reported Chaser objective
The beginner guide describes one starting Chaser pursuing Runners and gaining teammates as catches lead to conversions. Its broad win objective is to convert the Runner team. This is the reported loop, not a current-server selection or win-condition test.
Published footage shows players carrying knives and a rescue mechanic. A downed Runner may still have a rescue opportunity, so do not assume the catch, loss of rescue and conversion happen at the exact same instant.
Practise reading a crossing
These are learning exercises derived from the visible crossing loop. They are not tested hitbox exploits, guaranteed combos or a claim that a particular path always works. No knife base range, damage value or server-latency model has been measured here.
- Watch the Runner’s approach and the destination line before chasing directly behind.
- Notice whether a sideways dash changes the path you expected.
- Choose a place to intercept, then watch what actually happened rather than repeatedly assuming your reach is larger.
- Use the current HUD to track the phase and team state.
Three reported Chaser effects, three different jobs
The guide’s Best/Mid/Low priorities are opinions, so our reference does not repeat them as a tier list. Current role availability, price and cooldown belong to the shop card you can see.
- Rocket Shoes: a reported directional dash from a standstill; not an established movement-speed multiplier.
- Big Dagger: a reported reach increase for the next hit, with a 5-second effect window; the normal hitbox remains unmeasured.
- Rufus’s Leash: a reported pull up to 6 studs; pull distance is not the same as melee reach.
A knife appearance is not a combat statistic
The published Party Popper card describes a community invite unlock and a balloon-like dagger. Its appearance and unlock condition do not prove extra damage or range.
A consumable trap and a permanent ability are also different purchases. Check the role label, owned charges and effect description before choosing. Do not copy a Runner recommendation into a Chaser loadout without checking availability.
